Job description: We are seeking a part-time and/or full-time Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Acute Care setting. Potential candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision and effectively communicate with physicians/nurse manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Monitor patients by checking blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate, and other vital signs, and reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team
  • Perform complete and thorough head-to-toe assessments
  • Administer and prepare medications using the five medication rights
  • Communicate appropriately, respectfully, and clearly to nurse manager, co-workers, and physicians in regards to unit and/or patient concerns
  • Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs
  • Ability to identify and coordinate patient needs during and after hospitalization and able to coordinate patient care with community resources
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations
  • Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments
  • Ensure that electronic and paper documentation meets current standards and policies
  • Willingness to learn and carry out duties associated with Case Management and Social Services

Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current CA state registered nurse license. Current ACLS/BLS certification. Successful completion of arrhythmia course within 6 months from hire date.

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively; verbally and in writing.

Computer knowledge: Windows, and Microsoft Office, OmniCell, EMR Systems

Physical Demands: Vision, hearing, bending, squatting, lifting, and repetitive motions.

Schedule: Night and/or Day, 2-3 12 hour shifts/week

Salary: Competitive, Overtime and Shift Differential, travel compensation, housing available
